Gorehounds Unite!

 Crawl Space is a film written and directed by Michael Tiddes and starring Erin Ross (Mad TV, Will And Grace, American Dreams). This film was made for a meager budget and made in less than 2 1/2 days.

 The film centers on a beautiful and happy couple as they start their day.....Our beautiful main character played by erin finds herself stuck in the Crawl Space of their house after banging her head and cant remember why or how she got their. While in the Crawl Space our young heroine slowly remembers how she got there as well as a few well kept secrets that may just test her sanity. 

 The first thing that struck me when I popped this disc in and hit play was just how beautiful the film was to look at! The cinematography was just gorgeous as well as the flow of the film....This is a testament to them filmmaker and to the crew. This looked better than 99% of the films I've seen theatrically released! The framing of the shots on this film were simply breathtaking......and  some of the unconventional shots he uses with the camera are quite impressive and memorable as well.

 The second thing that jumped out immediatly was just how gorgeous our lead actress was....she is your normal beauty type, but theres something amazingly striking about her that won't let you look away from the screen. I know I know it's not about how beautiful an actress is...the question is "can she really act"?

 The answer to this is an resounding YES! I would be suprised if this film doesnt make Erin Ross a legitimate hollywood actress as shes the best I've seen on screen in a long, long time! Don't get me wrong the rest of the cast are all very good actors/actresses as well it's just that Erin Ross commands the screen so well that she stands out.

 Well as we all know the acting is nothing but a waste without a well written story.......and this film has that in spades. The story is well written and has a brisk and even pacing to it, not to mention the characters are all written very 3 dimensional and you actually care for them. The dialouge is very realistic and flows as well keeping you deeply rooted in the storyline.

 The short running time is perfect for the subject matter as I think this is a story best told in the short format (although I for one would love to see what the filmmakers could do with a feature running time). I actually looked for flaws in this film and just couldnt find any which says alot about all the people involved. You can tell everyone who was involved thought of this film as a labor of love....and it shows.

 The actors all worked for nothing but credit and the equipment was all donated.....The film stock even ended up being donated! If they had not had all of these things basically given to them I could see the busget for this film being very cose to a quarter of a million dollars. They even had a full Crawl Space set built from scratch......all this contributes to what I would call one of the top 10 indie films to be released in the last 5 years.

 As I stated before I could find no faults with the film itself and I believe any horror or thriller fan thats reading this go out immediatly and find a way to view this fantastic film either at a film fest near you or by buying a copy of this film.

 This is one of the most powerful and intelligent horror/thriller films released in recent memory and it will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout and begging for more!

 This is what we all want from our horror films! It's a taut and thrilling entry made by a crew who obviously have a love and respect for the horror genre. The horror genre fans have been abused recently by the big budget horror entries at their local theaters so It's nice to see that a film can be made that doesnt talk down and offend the fans of the genre. I plan on trying to get as much news as possible in the near future and if I can ever get the funding needed I will be sure to travel out to them to get some in depth interviews or something similar....Keep your eyes on these pages!

 Crawl Space is now the high water mark that all other studio and indie films need to achieve to be. This is the kind of film we all need to support......the alternative is a ton of cheesy unimaginitive torture flicks, remakes and sequels. And hopefully if were all lucky well see Mr. Tiddes films take over the theaters and push out all the garbage that now resides there. One can only hope!
