Recently we here at Gorehounds Unite! had the distinct pleasure to interview the beautiful and talented Christa Campbell. Christa has become known to horror fans in the recent years with roles in films such as "2001 Maniacs", "The Wicker Man", "Mansquito", "Death By Engagement", And "Hallows Point". She's quickly become one of the better known actresses who's embraced the Horror Genre and all of it's fans. She's embraced the lowbudget filmmakers and helped many of them become prominent names in the buisness as well.Christa can be seen at many of the horror conventions and will be seen in a few highly awaited films coming to a theater near you soon! These include the "Day Of The Dead" remake and "2001 Maniacs: Beverly Hellbillys" reprising her role as the Milk Maiden. Be sure to check out her PLAYBOY pictorial on sale this month as well!

Q: Thanks again for agreeing to do this interview with us! We here at Gorehounds Unite! have been huge fans since we met you at Fangos weekend of horrors while you were promoting 2001 Maniacs.While growing up in Colorado, you started in the buisness by doing modeling.....Was this something you always wanted to do?
A: Actually i grew up in rohnert park california,we use to do all the fashion shows and car shows and the beauty pagents there,that was pretty much all the modeling they had there.
Q: After you made your mark on the modeling scene, you started to act in film. How did this opportunity come about?
A: I started in acting classes and I went to class 3 times a week,acting was hard for me ,but it was a new challenge and I always love a good challenge.
Q: How hard was it for you after Modeling for so long to move into making films? Did it just feel natural because you were already used to having a camera on you all the time?
A: No I studied acting for a while before I started working.
Q: You've starred in alot of horror/sci-fi films, Were you always a fan of this genre? And if not after working in the genre are you now a fan?
A: Now that i look back at my favorite movies that I grew up on, I did love horror films,but I never realized it 'till now!

Q: Being that you've done so many Horror Films, you've started to mentioned more and more as a "Scream Queen". Do you welcome the title? Do you feel the title has negative meaning to it?
A: Nothing is negitive if there talking about you, that means there talking!! I still don't consider myself a scream queen as i'm rarely the victim,i'm usually the killer!
Q:You started out doing alot of nudity in your work, Was this hard for you or were you used to it from your modeling days?
A: Actually i never did nudity until my topless scene in 2001 maniacs,I did a bunch of erotic confession shows but I never did nudity just played other roles like the friend,the maid,etc.
Q: Explain to us how it felt doing your first nude scene in a film.....Also were you worried what your family and friends would think?
A: I was nervous but I never really care about what other people might think and my family supports me.

Q: This brings us to your recent Playboy pictorial. How did this opportunity come about?
A: I got a call one day an that was it, I never even had to think about it, it was yes!!
Q: Did you actually get to meet Hugh Hefner? If so what were your first impressions of him?
A: He is an amazing kind generous man who truly loves women.
Q: Ok this brings me to ask.........How can I get invited to one of those Playboy Mansion Parties? Any chance you can take us with? PLEASE? LOL......sorry I just had to ask!
A: Everyone asks!!! honestly its really hard enless your a celebrity or one of hefs friends.
Q: The recent trend in horror films has ben to remake alot of the classics. This has been a hot topic of discussion for fans. Having worked in a few yourself (Wicker Man, Day Of The Dead 2001 Maniacs) How do you feel about them?
A: I love them,there fun movies,an there different not like the original.

Q: Do you feel these remakes can actually improve on the original? Or are they just a payday for the studios?
A: Its not about either,its about an updated version of a film we all loved years ago,its not that serious....
Q: Do you feel that the studios may have run out of original ideas?
A: No,I think people enjoy these films when there growing up an it gives the next generation a chance to do the same
Q:Speaking of Day Of The Dead....This for me was a hard one to hear about because Im a HUGE fan of the original. How did you get involved with this film?
A: I begged to be in this film,its nothing like the original its its own film,its a fun film with lots of maddness
Q: What attracted you to the role in DOTD?
A: I love zombies!!!!

Q: Jumping back a little bit here......On the original 2001 maniacs (well the original remake) you got to work with Robert Englund. Were you aware of his body of work? And what was he like to work with?
A: Robert is amazing,he is funny sweet an love to tell a thousand stories,an a great actor,yeah I was a bit scared to meet him,but he put me at ease with his kindness
Q: How was Tim Sullivan to work with as a director?
A: Tim is great hes the most passionate person i know ,he is commited to his work 100 percent
Q: Was there always plans to do a sequel? And what is the evolution of your character?
A: It was such a cult hit that they were asking for a sequel ,you will see the milk maiden transform......
Q: Speaking of 2001 maniacs.....that film had alot of gore and humor that could be considered "Offensive". How do you feel about that? Also was there any scene you found too offensive?
A: No i love edgy films thats why i make them,if you cant take a joke then dont watch these films
Q: The big trend in Horror films today has become the "Torture Film".....What do you think of these films and would you everr star in one?
A: Would I ever star in hostel? hell yeah!! it takes alot to offend me!

Q: Do you think Horror films can go too far? Weather that be the Gore, Subject matter, or the humor?
A: If people are buying then theyll keep making them!
Q: You recently did a film called "Death By Engagement"(which we will be reviewing in a few days) Tell us about the film and a little about your character.
A: Its a fun horror comedy,we had fun shooting this one......oh and i do die :( lol!
Q: So what would you say in the whole of your career has been your best performance?
A: Im not sure I think the best is yet to come
Q: Do you ever have trouble seperating yourself from the character you play once filming is done? Or even every night after a shoot?
A: You mean do i go home an pour acid on my boyfriend s face? no its just acting :)
Q:Youve worked on well over 45 different films/Episodes so far in your career....So whats next for Christa Campbell?
A: I ask myself that question everyday
Q: Now that youve done the convention circuit Im sure youve met a few of your "weirder" fans.....can you tell us any funny stories from the convention floor?
A: Actually everyone ive met so far has been really cool,I love going an chatting with everyone
Q: Whats the srangest thing youve ever been sent or given by a fan?
A: Money
