The More Blood The Better

Chainsaw Sally Overview:

Sally is a young woman living in a small Maryland town who lives two lives: a calmly librarian by day, and a brutal serial killer by night where she randomly targets any man or woman whom even slightly upsets her. Sally lives with her reclusive, transvestite younger brother Rudy whom assists in her with the killings. Both Sally and Ruby were traumatized as youngsters when both of them witnessed three lunatics murder their mother and father before they, with 'Daddy's' help, killed the three murderous psychos. In the meantime, a young businessman, named Steve Kellerman, arrives in town to buy a piece of land which a ruthless land developer, named Harvey Benton, wants to develop condos on which is the land of Sally and Ruby's former house, vacant since the night of their parents murder. Not wanting to have change in their lives, Sally plots to eliminate the interlopers to ensure she continue her killing spree lifestyle.

First off let me just state I went into this one really wanting it to be good and to like it. It had everything going for it, A hot chick, Gunnar Hansen, Herschell Gordon Lewis, Lesbian Sex Scenes, And for god sakes it has Chainsaws in it! What could go wrong?  Well for starters the special Effects are non existent.....You get to see all kinds of blood sprayed on people and the screen but absolutely no aftermath (well what you do see is horrible). Im sure budget has alot to do with this as well but cmon.........The effects that are there look like something you would see on a kids super 8 film from the 50's!!!

Next lets delve into the acting shall we.........Well actings a strong word used here. The acting in this film is just horrible, The best performance came from Herschell Gordon Lewis and hes only in the film for less than 5 minutes as a shop keeper. Gunner appears to be just going through the paces (even though in the documentary he says how enthusiastic he was to be in this) for yet another paycheck. All the names in the film appear to be just added on footage thrown in to capitalize on their names. Now I can be very forgiving to low budget films for bad acting as their budget is restrictive but this is just ridiculous.

The premise of this film has been done to death in the direct to DVD market in the last couple of years and youll find nothing new here just the same things just done worse. From what I know of the film it is based on the fact that a few pictures and stories were put on a website and proved popular enough to warrant a film version....but it feels like just that. This would have made a great short story but stretched to full feature length just feels drawn out and boring. Because of all this I cant with good concious give it a good rating nd have to tell everyone not to spend their money on it.
