A WORD ABOUT THE FILMMAKERS:
Albatross Films, Inc. was started in 2002 by David Buchert and Robert Ziegler. Their current films are Blood Oath and Behind The Wall Of Sleep. Blood Oath is their first feature and has appearances by genre faves Tiffany Shepis and Tina Krause.Look for more from this group in the near future.

When I first found out about Blood Oath I was excited because I heard our favorite resident Scream Queen, Tiffany Shepis, Had a small role in it. This alone grants this movie one Severed Head just for that fact alone because anything shes been in, she has managed to make enjoyable for us here at GU and we are big fans of hers. So even if this movie fails on all levels it will still get a 1 out of 5....

Thankfully this isnt the case with Blood Oath......This is possibly the best looking and directed film Ive seen in quite some time. The biggest knock I have on this film is that its all been done before and the script isnt very original. Although the filmmakers do kind of cover this up by making it seem more like a homage to the original TCM as opposed to a direct rip off.
The acting is about on par with most of the lower budget films out there nowadays although Id have to say its probably a little better now that I think about it. The effects in this film are above average as I enjoyed most of the kills as well as the killer.

As I mentioned before though the real star of this film is the director and the editing. The movie looks gorgeous and the locations shine.......The movie is pieced together very professionally and it looks like they took their time to get the shots they needed. The plot never feels too dull or too slow I just wish you had gotten to know the characters a little better but I guess thats not really the point with these types of films is it?
All in all, Blood Oath is a fun little trip into that classic genre of the 80's slasher/70's exploitation vein that you wont want to miss! If you love your movies with lots of Blood, Breasts, And more blood then this is a film you have to see! Also if your a big fan of the genre this movie also offers a little extra in hidden and subtle homages and in-jokes......are you a big enough fan to spot them all? If theres any justice at all you'll soon see this film at your local video stores.......It's better than 90% of the garbage they try to throw at us nowadays so heres to hoping they get some good distribution soon!
