The More Blood The Better

After being accused of crimes he did not commit, a lonely circus performer exacts his revenge on those who unjustly condemned him. The act sparks something inside of him which he cannot stop and now, years later, his inner-demons have truly surfaced. Part urban legend, part tabloid sensationalism... he is now an unstoppable murderous juggernaut, fueled only by hate

100 TEARS, the title never really grabbe me but the Promo cover I saw at alot of the conventions and film festivals intrigued me! The cover has this demented looking overweight and bloody clown holding one of the damn biggest meat cleaver's I've ever seen.....seriously this has to be the biggest damn weapon I've ever seen! I contacted the filmmakers for a review copy and as soon as it arrived I threw it in.

The beginning of this film really didnt appear to be very special to me.....basically your typical detectives and press on the trail of a vicious serial killer. The killer starts his spree in a halfway house and while I found it entertaining (and bloody as all hell!) I wasnt totally blown away by it. Nor was I blown away by the whole plot as it stood then and there. To me it seemed to be your typical genre fare with above average acting and alot of blood.

But to my suprise as the film went on and the story unfolded I found myself pulled into the film and enjoying myself greatly! Beautiful women who could actually act, A great villan, and a shitload of blood! How could I not be! I have to admit to having a small crush on one of the lead actresses though....Georgia Chris, who has to be one of the more classic beauty's I've seen recently. I found her very appealing in character and thats a testament to the actress as well as the way the character is written! She is the one to watch as her acting ability is as good as anyone I've seen. A special mention has to go to Raine Brown as well for her performance. Last we saw her was starring in the film Barricade. She does quite the convincing portrayal of a nutbag in this film!

As I stated above the film is very average as far as story goes for this kind of film but the filmmakers manage to give it heart which makes it elevate a little above average. And it does get better as it unfolds, although I did have it figured out as far as the little twist goes (I don't think there was really an attempt to hide that fact but...) but I found myself on the edge of my seat to see more!

What really elevated this film above and beyond any of it's competition is the special effects all of which were pulled off practically and without CGI....thank the lord for that! Seriously though the effects in this film are amazing and they went through like 40 gallons of blood! There were many "OH SHIT" moments during the killing scenes and I was always glued to my seat as I awaited each gory killing to unfold.

I really have no clue as to how they managed to put such well done special effects into this film on a small budget....some of the killing scenes actually made me jump out of my seat and cheer! They were that good....in this day and age it's hard to be impressed anymore now that special effects have come so far, somehow 100 Tears managed to do this for me again. This film is probably the goriest one I've seen in the last 3 years and is a welcome addition to any gorehounds collection!

As far as what I think could have been improved upon would be the music as it tends to get grating after awhile and the film could have used a little better pacing throughout. Also the ending while gory doesnt quite live up to the gore in the rest of the film which is kind of a let down but in no way detracts from the enjoyment of the film. The most glaring problem with this film is the dialogue as it was very stiff and didnt flow well. I think if this had  been better we would have been looking at an even better gore score! Something for the filmmakers to work on in their next film anyways....I look forward to this film getting a few sequels in the near future as well as a decent DVD release because I'd love to see a feature on the make-up effects!

All in all this film was an enjoyable thrill ride that I'll gladly hop on again! This film is a gorehounds wet dream, theres more blood spilt on the screen during this brutal film than all the BS horror films weve been force fed on the silver screen over the course of the last few years.Theres so much blood spilt on this film that I'm sure there was a severe shortage of Karo syrup in the filmmakers hometown! 100 Tears ia a welcome return of the gore for gores sake splatter films we've been missing all these years! So with no shortage of the red stuff I have to enthusiastically give this film my recommendation to all true gorehounds out there! But if your scared of clowns.....well then you better stay way the hell away from this film!
